| Boarding in Custom Horse Barns & Horse Stables Near Sacramento The original horse barn are restored and the design is from barns and horse stables built in this area of Sacramento from the 1800's. Horse boarding barns feature a gabled roof, antique stained glass imported from England and brick isle ways. Horse stalls are 12 x 12 or 13 x 13 with or without runs and include 1.5" rubber mats. Stalls have automatic waterer's. The brick provides traction and can be wet down during hot summer days to cool horse barns. Horse barns were positioned to catch the delta breeze at night. There is a fly spray system and fans are available in the summer and stall lights to keep horses coats down are available in the winter months. |

| Historic Nelson Ranch Horse Barns have individual tack rooms for riders their horse equipment & grain rooms. Borders get a large tack closet to safely store their saddles and tack in. |


| Historic Nelson Ranch located in Northern California, horse boarding and horses are our specialty and priority. Horses are feed twice daily at 7 am and 5 p.m. We Only buy top quality horse hay. We offer your choice and combination of alfalfa, alfalfa/grass, rye or 3 oat mix. We purchase quality horse hay from local growers for the entire year, so horses have a consistent diet. Horse grain storgage areas are available for safe storage of grain and horse supplements. We offer custom feeding programs tailored to your horses needs. We also offer self care horse stalls. |
| The Historic Nelson Ranch offers 5 large riding arenas. All have sandy loom footing, which means no mud! The large outdoor arena is set up with return alleys and holding areas. The footing is excellent in this arena and is heat engineered to prevent packing, soft and allows horses to break over properly. The jumping arena is has firmer sand footing. The large indoor has an all purpose sand footing. There is a trail arena. There is a CD / I-pod system for borders to play music while they ride. Many Davis college students enjoy studying and tables are provided under the large historic shade trees. There is a smaller 200 X 150 warm up arena and 2 - 50' round pens with sand footing. There is easy access to trails along the Cache Creek in Yolo County toward Sacramento, Ca. |
